Ski Blades
In Scandinavia, namely Sweden, this type of skating is very popular. The comfort, safety but mostly the relaxed manner of skating are the basis of it's success.

Back Country blades and bindings are more sturdy than Cross Country.

Attention:
The bindings and boots of these two types are not interchangeble

A combination of Cross Country skiing and ice skating. The boot with a special sole is locked (clicked)into the binding. The heel is not secured. The boot is hinged to the blade (in the front) As a result long strides can be made. The principle of the Ski Blade is the same as with the clapskate.
The longer stride together with the movement of the foot makes skating with skiblades more relaxing than traditional blades.

Because of the special profile of the sole and the binding, the boot returns to the blade after push off (B) thus enabling a stable slide phase (C). The following stride (sideways push) is then possible.

Parts :

1. Blade
2. Binding
3. Boots

Attention:
To enjoy ice skating with ski blades one needs boots which give support.
